My dad and I at the Cancer Clinic during hydration

during hydration
From Dawn: I just returned home from visiting my dad. It was good to see him, but it was difficult to see how hard this battle is. He had to go into the clinic every day for blood work plus four hours of hydration. He was still in isolation because he continued to have cold symptoms. He had nausea both days, but the anti-nausea medication did its job and kept the food down. It also made him even more tired. The nurse kept telling him he needed to drink more liquids and he was trying. The kindness of the staff was impressive. I was also very pleased with the Pete Gross House, where my dad is staying. Since it is entirely for cancer patients, it is designed specifically to be kept germ and moldfree and all the patients and caregivers are careful with germs.
Today, my dad’s youngest brother, Dick, came to be his caregiver for the next two weeks.
Please pray that my dad feels encouraged, that God gives him joy despite the difficult circumstances, that the cold symptoms heal, and that he will be able to drink and eat enough. Thank you.
My dad sent me these pictures to post. His mustache is gone now.

Actually had a pretty good day and night. Of course, I was up a number of times during the night because of the 100+ oz. that I have to drink not including the liter of hydration. Was able to take some time in the morning after Randy made breakfast for us, to walk the halls for 15 minutes and do the stretching/exercises etc. Got the blood draw done as usual then saw the nurse - a new one for the next few days - so she went through all the meds etc. with us to make sure everything was updated. The we got to the 6th floor early - where the hydration is done ——- but ——- all the rooms were full and we got in an hour late! I did get a little sleep during that hour. And today I did not have a headache at all, all day. We did keep all the lights dimmed, but I think my eyes are doing better in the light. Was able to listen to some of the Christian music I brought with me and finish one book today and sleep more during the 4 hour hydration. They expect that I will soon be able to not have to have the hydration. I don’t remember if I told you that all the tests I had taken yesterday or the day before - all turned out good. Do be praying about a bit of a sinus drainage and gunk in my lungs, some sneezing and coughing goes away during the night. I need that gone before tomorrow. Had all the fluid required today, but I think I was a little lax on the eating part, as the wait to get to hydration was during lunch time, but we had no idea when they would call us to go to one of their rooms to have it done.
